Do I need the App for my Vela to work?

You will need to install either the iOS or Android app to register and start using the Vela. After that, many of our riders do not utilize the app daily. You can drop the battery into the bike and go. 

The Vela app can control power level, lock/unlock status, regenerative braking system and location of the bike. You can also monitor your battery level, riding speed and navigation using the map feature. New features for the bike are updated over the air via software updates.
