Yes, within your Vela app, you have the option to switch between multiple power modes that regulate the bikes' assist level. Additionally, you have the optional boost button which increases your top speed to 20mph and has an impact on your range.
High assist (~25 miles range, cruising speed of 17 mph)
This is the default riding mode which maximizes the power curve and max speed. Designed for a perfect commuting experience.
Low assist (~40 miles range, cruising speed of 14 mph)
If you want to cruise at a slower pace, but don't want to sweat; or if you're running out of juice but have a few more miles to go.
Auto assist (~30 miles range)
This assist level will keep the rider in high assist mode until you've reached 20% remaining power and then automatically adjust to the low assist level.
No Assist (unlimited range)
You can still ride your Vela just like a regular bike.
Our development team is always working on future improvmeents of the Vela and updates will be available with over-the-air updates.
