How does the motor assistance work?

The Vela is a class 1 e-bike. It is designed to fit as a pedelec (the term is derived from pedal electric cycle),  which means that for the motor to provide assistance, you must pedal. We opted for the system to maintain the cycling experience, with the electric power propelling you to go faster. 

The rider has the ability to turn on or off the motor assistance in the Vela App. Additionally, you can remove the battery and utilize the bike like a traditional bicycle.
