Does the motor recover energy / use a regenerative braking system?

The Vela Vento is the only bike that utilizes our regenerative braking capabilities.

The built-in motor has a regenerative (regen) brake system that is able to redirect energy for the battery, increasing the charge while you cycle. We like to describe the difference as a similar feel with a Hybrid or Electric (i.e. Tesla) braking system compared to a traditional car's brakes. 

As of the App update (July 2023), the rider has the ability to turn on and off the regen braking system.
